Banyan Tree – A luxurious side to Vietnam

Busy market places, beeping horns, crowded bars and excited tourists – Vietnam is one truly amazing destination!

IMG_5668-V2Arriving into Danang, it’s hard not to notice the flashing lights, high rise buildings and busy street life, and while it’s a beautiful coastal city, and a definite on the list of places to visit in Vietnam, a little piece of paradise is waiting just around the corner, about an hours drive North of the city.  Banyan Tree Lang Co is the perfect place to escape it all. A haven where you can relax, indulge, and be treated like absolute royalty.

At first I was a little concerned that this 5 star resort was a little too far out from the happenings of Danang and Hoi An, but after enjoying a scenic drive past fishing villages, and lush green mountains, we arrived at the gates of what looks like a very exclusive community. From the moment we arrived at Banyan Tree Lang Co in Laguna, we were hypnotized by the almost untouched natural beauty that surrounded the property, and the staff made us feel like our arrival had really made their day. Immediately after we received our welcome drink and cool towel on arrival, I knew that leaving this place was going to be difficult.

IMG_5658Whether you’re travelling on your own, with a partner or with friends, this property welcomes you with a warm embrace and plenty of enthusiasm. From the quiet, lavish Pool Villas, to the elaborate and luxurious 3 Bedroom Hilltop Villas, it’s like you’re experiencing a private little piece of paradise that’s been reserved just for you. With in-villa check in, and a dedicated Villa Host, your only responsibility is to relax, take in the stunning vistas, and enjoy the luxuries.

I’m not usually one to just lay around all day by the pool but after a few days of exploring busy Vietnamese cities and working up a sweat trawling through the markets, this was the perfect break in our 2 week itinerary. Spending all day in our private pool villa came so easily, our 3 days in paradise left me feeling like I had been there over a week. It seems that there really is no better way to leave stress and fatigue behind, than to hide away in a villa amidst nature, on the shores of the East Sea.

When time came to venture outside of our villa walls, I immediately noticed the carefully landscaped gardens and peaceful common areas. When the sun sets, the whole resort is lit up by lanterns, and you’re subtly reminded of the beauty and authenticity of the Vietnamese culture and it’s people.

Speaking of Vietnamese culture – you can’t deny that food IMG_5687is a huge part of local life in Vietnam, and on our visit to this beautiful country, many of our days were planned around where we were going to eat next. Staying at Banyan Tree Lang Co made things easy for us in this regard, as there are a number of dining options available, including in-villa dining! Breakfast in the main restaurant was a perfect start to the day, and dinner in their signature restaurant Saffron was something to write home about. Situated high on the edge of a cliff, and overlooking the whole coastline, there’s no wonder you need a reservation to get in for dinner. With traditional Vietnamese cuisine, and a long list of delicious cocktails, you really need to set aside your whole evening to enjoy Saffron in its entirety.

Situated right next door to Angsana Lang Co, staying at Banyan Tree allows you to enjoy the facilities at both properties. Getting around the resort is made easy with plenty of transport options – whether you prefer to ride your villa bicycle, walk, be picked up by the resort buggy, or take advantage of the canal ferry between the two properties, you won’t be left to fend for yourself, unless of course, that’s exactly what you’re after.
